PADI Rescue Diver

Becoming a PADI Rescue Diver is one of the most important steps in diver training. This course will expand your diving knowledge, skills, and confidence while benefiting the diving industry as a whole. Our intense course will give you the confidence and wisdom crucial for making a difference in an emergency.

PADI Rescue Diver is also a crucial step in the path to PADI Master Diver or PADI Divemaster.

Prerequisites:          

Must be certified as PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or equivalent rating. Must be 15 years old. (12 for Jr. Rescue Diver.) Parental consent required for students under age 18. Must have current (within past 2 years) CPR certification or take concurrent CPR and First Aid course. PADI Emergency First Responder (EFR) meets CPR and First Aid requirements for this course.

Course:                   

Includes instruction, photo, certification fee, PADI Rescue Diver Manual, PADI Rescue Diver work slate, Pocket Mask, and PADI Rescue Diver emblem. Prices do not include PADI eLearning, equipment rental, air fills, or county park fee.

What to Do:        

1. Sign up at MDC Sports.

-Fill out PADI Medical Statement, Liability Release, and Statememt of Understanding in your student folder.     
-Pick up student materials and rental DVD for independent study.
-Try on and reserve any rental scuba equipment needed. (Allow 1 hour)
-Have MDC Staff photograph you for your certification card.

2. Do your homework!

-Read each module of the PADI Rescue Diver Manual.
-Watch each module of the PADI Rescue Diver Video.
-Complete knowledge reviews at the end of each module.

3. Get Physician’s approval if any of the items apply to you. Padi Medical Questionaire
 

4. Attend your class

-Turn in completed knowledge reviews and PADI Rescue Diver Video.
-Bring proof of 20 logged dives and CPR certification.

-Mask, fins, snorkel
-Wetsuit hood & gloves
-BCD
-Weights
-Tarp -Logbook
-Regulator
-Dive computer
-Dive Tables
-Tanks
-Pressure gauge
-Compass
