Schedule:

Sign-up today because you may need additional practice time master your scuba skills. This course requires two full days at the Rochester Recreation Center in the classroom and pool.

Saturday: Meet at 8:45am at Rec. Center Door #5** for classroom.  Pool 3-8pm.
Sunday: Meet at 7:45am at Rec. Center Door #5** for Pool 8am-Noon, Classroom 1:15-5pm.

**Door #5 is on rear of building (West side) and is the North Door.

 

What to Do:        

1. Sign up at MDC Sports.

-Fill out PADI Medical Statement, Liability Release, and Statememt of Understanding in your student folder.     
-Pick up student materials and rental PADI Open Water Diver DVD for independent study.
-Try on and reserve any rental scuba equipment needed. (Allow 1 hour)

2. Do your homework!   (Independent study averages 10-12 hours)

-Watch all five section of video
-Read all five modules of the course book
-Read PADI eRDPml Instructions for Use and Study Guide booklet
-Complete all five knowledge reviews (found at the end of each module)

3. Get Physician’s approval before orientation session if any of the items apply to you. Padi Medical Questionaire

-Physician must correctly complete, sign, and date PADI Medical Statement

4. Purchase or rent mask, fins, snorkel, and boots.

-We have a wide selection of merchandise and are experts at fitting you properly.
-Contact MDC Sports prior to class if you intend to rent mask, fins, snorkel, and boots.

5. Go to class at MDC Sports

6. Schedule your Open Water training dives.

-MDC Sports conducts training dives locally May through October
-If you intend to conduct your Open Water training dives on your vacation, you need to request a PADI Letter of Referral from us as proof that you have completed your training.
